Clinical Observation On 30 Cases Of Knee Osteoarthritis(Yang Deficiency Cold Coagulation) Treated By Tuina Therapy Of Wenyang

Purpose: To observe and research the clinical therapeutic effect in the 30 cases of knee osteoarthritis(Yang Deficiency Cold Coagulation) treated by Tuina Therapy of Wenyang. Method: 60 cases with knee osteoarthritis patients with a syndrome of Yangxu Hanning were randomly chosen and divided into two groups: the treatment group and the control group. Each group contained 30 cases. The treatment group was treated by Tuina with Wenyang manipulation, and the control group was done by Wu Iontophoresis(the iontophoresis soak is made by Chinese herbs Chuanwu and Caowu). Result: Compared knee joint function of pre-treatment with that of post-treatment in the every group, there is a very significant difference (p<0.0001). Compared knee joint function after treatment between the two groups, there is a obviously difference (p<0.0001). Compared symptoms and physical signs in TCM of pre-treatment with that of post-treatment in the every group, there is a very significant difference (p<0.0001). Compared symptoms and physical signs in TCM after treatment between the two groups, there is a obviously difference (p<0.01). Compared the total effective rate between two groups: The total effective rate is 96.7% in the treatment group, while 66.67% in the control group, and after statistics analysis by Ridit there is significant difference between two groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: For the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(Yang Deficiency Cold Coagulation,Ⅰ～Ⅲ),both Tuina therapy of Wenyang and Wu Iontophoresis can improve knee joint function, symptoms and physical signs inTCM.Meanwhile Tuina therapy of Wenyang has a better therapeutic effect than Wu Iontophoresis. Because of advantages and characteristics of simple manipulations, rapid therapeutic effect,without adverse effect, lower price and last but not least being easy to be accepted by patients, it is worth advocating to be applied widely.
