The Clinical Research Of Treatment Of Advanced Non Small Cell Lung Cancer With Traditional Chinese Medicine YiFeiXiaoLiu Decoction Combining NP Regimen

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the curative effect, toxic and side reaction, as well as the influence on body's immune function of the treatment of advanced non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) using traditional Chinese medicine YiFeiXiaoLiu Decoction combining NP regimen.Methods: 63 patients of advanced non small cell lung cancer were divided into therapy group and control group at random. The therapy group was 32 patients and given the treatment of YiFeiXiaoLiu Decoction combining NP regimen,while the control group was 31 patients given the treatment of NP regimen alone. After continuous treating course of two periods (three weeks per period) of the two groups, we had compared the size of tumor, clinical symptom, body weight, and the quality of life(QOL), immune function of the two groups pretherapy and post-treatment respectively and the toxic and side reaction of each group.Results: The curative effect of therapy group was superior to that of the control group obviously (P<0.05) concerning the symptoms(cough, bloody sputum, short breath, inability, etc.) relief. We presumed that the YiFeiXiaoLiu Decoction could relieve various kinds of clinical symptom of advanced NSCLC patients to a degree. The stable rate of cancer focus was 87.5% after treatment of therapy group, and superior to that of the control group (67.74%). There was significant deviation (P<0.05) between the therapy group and the control group, however there wasn't significant deviation of objective effective rate (P>0.05) between the therapy group and the control group. The results indicated that the therapy group has better effect concerning to stable the cancer focus than the control group. Through comparing the blood routine test, hepatic and renal function examination etc. between the pretherapy and post-treatment, we concluded that the therapy group was superior to the control group obviously concerning to stable the level of white and to protect the function of liver and kidney and so on, and there was significant deviation (P<0. 05) between them. The toxic and side reaction such as nausea, vomit etc. of therapy group was lighter than that of the control group, and there was significant deviation (P<0.05) statistically. This result indicated that the YiFeiXiaoLiu Decoction could relieve effectively the toxic and side reaction of the process of chemical therapy. The level of CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+,NK cell of post-treatment of therapy group was more increased than that of pretherapy, while the level of control group was not increased obviously. There was significant deviation (P<0.05) between the therapy group and the control group. The results indicated the YiFeiXiaoLiu Decoction could elevate effectively the immune function of the cancer patients in clinical. There was significant deviation (P<0.05) between the therapy group and the control group concerning to increase the weight of the patients. The Karnofsky's score of therapy group was superior to that of control group concerning the quality of life(QOL) and there was significant deviation (P<0.05) between them. Conclusion: The YiFeiXiaoLiu Decoction combining chemical therapy can relieve effectively the clinical symptom of advanced non small cell lung cancer patients, improve the quality of living of the patients, increase the weight of the patients, elevate the immunity, stable the cancer focus, decrease the toxic and side action, and is the effective method of treating advanced non small cell lung cancer.
