The Relationship Between Prehypertension And Serum Uric Acid

Objective To study the relationship between prehypertension(120～139/80～89mmHg) and serum uric acid(UA).Methods Ninety six patients with prehypertension were enrolled,it has sixty four men and thirty two women.Seventy two people were enrolled as control group,it has thirty nine men and thirty three women,the serum uric acid level of all people were measured,The serum uric acid level and the morbidity rate of hyperuricemia between prehypertension group and control group were compared.We also compared the different serum uric acid level between men and women. The correlation of serum uric acid level and systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were analysed using correlate model.Results The serum uric acid level is significantly different in prehypertension group and in control group.Also have difference in men and women.1.The serum uric acid level in prehypertension group[(327.48±72.21)μmol/L]was Significantly higher than that in control group[(277.99±73.34)μmol/L](p＜0.01).The morbidity rate of hyperuricemia in prehypertension group(13.54%) was significantly higher than that in control group(4.17%),(p＜0.01).2.This association persisted in subgroup analyses by categories of gender.In the prehypertension group the serum uric acid level with man[(349.66±66.66)μmol/L]was significantly higher than that with women[(283.13±62.48)μmol/L](p＜0.01).Also in the control group the serum uric acid level with man[(316.41±73.27)μmol/L]was significantly higher than that with women[(232.58±40.41)μmol/L](p＜0.01)3.The serum uric acid level was found to be positively correlated with systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure,(r=0.188,0.317,p＜0.05,p＜0.01).Conclusion The serum uric acid is increased in the prehypertensive patients,Serum uric acid is risk factor of hypertension and cardiovascular disease,measures shuld be taken to prevent hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
