The Clinical Curative Effect In Treating Hyperplasia Of Mammary Glands Of The Type Of Stasis Of Liver-qi By Scraping Therapy

Background: Hyperplasia of mammary glands, which is called "rupi" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is an ordinary disease mostly among women. Its main clinical symptoms include intermittent pain and lump in mammary glands. There are more and more women suffering this disease in china. As the development of research about the mechanism on treating disease of meridian and points of TCM, we begin to use the traditional scraping therapy to cure hyperplasia of mammary glands.Objective:to observe the clinical curative effect of the scraping therapy in curing hyperplasia of mammary glands which belongs to the stasis of liver-qi, and explore the possible mechanism of scraping therapy to provide referring informations for its generalization.Methods:60 outpatients from the departments of acupuncture and the mammary glands in the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM, selected according to strict diagnosis criterion, were divided into the treat group of 30 cases and the control group of 30 cases. Treat group: we chose Jiaji points lines from T2 to T6, the 1st and 2nd lines of the urinary bladder meridian, both Jianjing points and both Tianzong points. In one week after menstrual period, we add Shenshu and Qihaishu. We used the plate made of cornu bubali to scrape the meridian and points above, 45°against the skin, 70 to 80 times per minute, until the "sha" (red or purple punctation fleck or plaque) appeard but the shenshu and qihaishu should be done as the erubescence appeard. It last about 20 minutes, twice a week(Monday and Friday), and paused during the menstrual period. Control group: patients took the medicine Rupixiao capsule, after meals, 5 pills every time, 3 times a day, paused during the menstrual period. One menstrual period is one course of treatment. And it will take 3 courses of treatment. All the patients took ultrasonic examination on mammary glands pretherapy and post-treatment. Record the data of the two groups, establish the database, and analyze them by SPSS16.0 software package.Results: the total effective rate of treat group is 73.33%, while the control group is 66.67%. There is no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05). In each group there are significant difference of symptoms about the pain and tumour of the mammary glands before and after therapy. The treat group has better effect on improving emotions, menstruation, and the data between the two groups has significance.Conclusions: clinical research shows that scraping therapy has good effect on hyperplasia of mammary glands of the type of stasis of liver-qi and the therapy effect approach the Chinese formulated products. And scraping therapy has the advantage of convenient manipulation and no side-effect. This shows that scraping therapy probably has good prospect of clinical application.
