Clinical Observation On Therapeutic Effect Of Acupoint Catgut Embedmenting On Chronic Lumbar Muscle Strain

Chronic lumbar muscle strain, caused by accumulating chronic soft tissue injury in lumbar, has relationship with the disorder fixed position for long time. Accumulating injury, which causes the lumbar muscle fiber avulsion and edema or hemorrhage at first, and then fibrosis that the lumbar muscles would be taught as nummular or funicular callosity, will lead to be chronic painful in waist.Chronic lumbar muscle strain makes patients to be in great troubles on daily life and decreases their living quality, even does harm to their mentality. Therefore, the study is mainly aimed at seeking an effective and easy therapeutics for chronic lumbar muscle strain.Objective: To observe the differentia of acupoint catgut embedment and electroacupuncture in short-term and long-dated of treating chronic lumbar muscle strain, in order to provide the evidence for an easy and effective therapeutics.Methods: Patients with chronic lumbar muscle strain, who were selected from acupuncture clinic of 1^staffiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM and Taiwan Guochangtang, would be randomly assigned into acupoint catgut embedment group (ACE group) and electroacupuncture group (control group), each of which had 30 patients. The symptoms of chronic lumbar muscle strain would be graded, meanwhile, short-term and long-dated effect of the two groups would be compared. The test data were evaluated by SPSS13.0.Results: General information of the two groups had no statistics sense (P>0. 05); so the two groups were comparable. After the first medication, symptom grades decreased, which had statistics sense(P<0. 05)in control group, but not in ACE group. The differences of symptom grades between groups showed significant difference (P<0. 05) . So the instant effect of control group was more effective than ACE group. After three week treatment, symptom grades of both group decreased and had statistics sense (P<0. 05) , but not between group (P>0. 05) . It showed that ACE group was as good as control group in short-term therapeutic effect. One months after treatment, compared with just finished treatment, the symptom grades showed statistics sense (P<0. 05) in control group, but not in ACE group (P>0.05) . Therefore, some patients of control group recrudesced what showed that the long-dated effect of ACE group is better than control group.Conclusion: Embedding thread, with an excellent shot-term and long-dated therapeutic effect, without side effect on chronic lumbar muscle strain, which is easy to carry out, is worth of being widely used clincal.
