Aim of the StudyThe purpose of this study is to discuss the inherent relationship between mental health and personality and coping style and social support . By analyzing the characteristics of mental health conditions and coping style as well as social support, we will provide the academic basis and basic referential data for psychological consultation and management of male nursing students in medicall college .Process and Method67 male nursing students in AnHui Medical College. Every class of students investigated with Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) quantum list, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) and coping style survey as well as social support evaluating list. Under the same direction, their answer sheets are taken back immediately after they finish answering the questions. Answer sheets to these lists were subsequently added up, analyzed and compared to their relationship. The results were added up and analyzed by using the SPSS 13.0 statistic software.Result1. The mental health condition of the male nursing students in medical college is above the average level of the total number of college students in China, but obsessive-compulsive and psychoticism lower than the average level of adults, the difference had statistical significance.2. In the comparison of the mental health condition among different grades in the male nursing students in medical college, lower grade students are distinct from higher grades students, lower grade students have a higher score in obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity and anxiety factor . However, there is no obvious difference when comes to their birth places or whether they are only child in their families.3. In the comparison of the EPQ among different grades in the nursing male students in medical college, lower grade students are distinct from higher grades students, lower grade students have a lower score in P score. However, there is no obvious difference when comes to their birth places or whether they are only child in their families.4. The male nursing students in medical college, are more inclined to adopt the methods of resolving problems to overcome difficulties, when they are faced with emergency. There are no distinct difference in students of different grades, place of birth, and whether they are only child in their families.5. Social supports to the nursing male students in medical college are generally good. Family support and friends are mainly support for them.. There are no distinct difference in students of different grades, place of birth, and whether they are only child in their families.6. The mental health, EPQ ,coping style and social support of the nursing male students in medical college are closely linked. Factors of SCL-90 are positively related to the P factor of EPQ . Obsessive-compulsive, depression ,hostility are positively related to positively relate to negative coping style .Somatization, paranoid ideation are negatively related to family support,social support .Social support lists are positively related to the mature coping style while negatively related to the immature coping style.Conclusion1. We can see that the nursing male students in medical college are better than the average level of the college students in China, but obsessive-compulsive lower than the average level of adults. So we should pay more attention2. Obtaining and using more social support and taking positive coping style could improve their psychological health.3. We should strengthen the personalities and the Creativity of college students .A good campus environment ought to be established to help students built a fine social support system. Psychological consultation activities should be actively organized.
