OBJECTIVE This thesis examined the psychological health condition,social support, and coping style of primiparas and their husbands,and the correlation between these three factors,and it further analyzed the factors influencing primiparas and their husbands' psychological health in order to provide directions in guarding against psychological barrier at the stage of childbed.METHODS Selected the primiparas and their husbands as study objects who deliveried in the two hospitals in Anhui province from November,2006 to May,2007. All study objects must meet the following qualifications:①Normal spontaneous fullterm delivery,no severe complication of pregnancy.②No personal and family history of mental aberration,no medical history of severe somatic disease;③The newborn was healthy and single birth;④Graduated from primary school at least, understood the content of the questionnaire and completed it independently;⑤Took part in the research willingly.The survey was completed by asking the primiparas and their husbands to fill in the questionnaires personally.The questionnaire comprised general data,Symptom Check List 90,Self-Rating Depressing Scale,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale,with which respectively examined the social demographic data,physical and psychological health condition, coping style and social support of the primiparas and their husbands.The original data were put into SPSS13.0,correlation analysis of Pearson,one-way ANOVA, multivariate stepwise regression analysis,and u-test were carded out.RESULTS 1.The scores of the primiparas and their husbands were obviously higher than those of national norm in many factors,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05,P<0.01).2.The scores of SDS of the primiparas and their husbands were higher,65.66%of the primiparas and 50.51%of the husbands had blue mood.3.The psychological health of the primiparas and husbands had no correlation with their social demographic factors,but it had significantly positive correlation with social support,positive coping(P<0.05,P<0.01),and had significantly negative correlation with passive coping(P<0.01).4.The total scores of the primiparas and their husbands were positively correlated with their scores of respective factors,and the differences had statistical significance (P<0.01).5.Taking social demographic factors,social support,positive coping,passive coping, and the total scores of SCL-90 of the husbands(or the primiparas)as the independent variables,and the total scores of SCL-90 of the he primiparas(or the husbands)as dependent variable,the multivariate stepwise regression analysis was done.The results showed the main factors which affected the psychological health of the primiparas(or the husbands)were social support,positive coping,passive coping and the psychological health of the husbands((or the primiparas).CONCLUSIONS 1.The primiparas had more mental troubles,the level of the psychological health was lower,and obtaining and using more social support and taking positive coping style could improve their psychological health.2.Childbearing also affected the psychological health of the primiparas as well as the husbands,and the level of the psychological health of the husbands was lower,and obtaining and using more social support and taking positive coping style could improve their psychological health.3.The psychological health of the primiparas and their husbands affected each other, and improving the psychological health of the husbands would help to reduce the ill mood such as blue of the primiparas.4.The psychological health care of the primiparas must be strengthened at the stage of childbed,and the psychological demands of husbands must be attached importance to and directed to prevent psychogenic disease after birth.
