Objective: Bacteroidal keratitis is a common ophthalmic disease.,and it is still the main ophthalmopathy which may lead to blindness. The pathogenesis is various and changeable. With understanding of the the disease`s reasons, professor Qinxingrui said the main type of bacteroidal keratitis is the liver meridian wind-heat, so the chief treating method should be heat-clearing and detoxicating,wind-scattering and nephelium-eliminating, cure the other disease at the same time. She created the trad.Ch.medicine method of Qingmutang to treat bacteroidal keatitis.Through observation on sixty patients and experiment on rats, the theme try to testify the effects of the trad.Ch.medicine method of Qingmutang , and explain the work pattern of Qingmutang.Methods: After the building of clinical standard, sixty patients were choosed and randomly divided into two groups: treat group and contrast group. Treat the first group with the trad.Ch.medicine method of Qingmutang and levofloxacin eye drops, treat the other group with Amoxicillin Capsules and levofloxacin eye drops. Finish the treatment, compare the curative effects: the clinical curative rates, the body feature in the trad.Ch.medicine, the main symptom, the tongue, tongue coating, the pulse and the bacterial eradication rates. In animal experimemt, 50 Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: the contrast, the compare model, the Min cure dosage, the Max dosage, the compare treat. Except the frist group, the others all became model of bacterial keratitis with Hobden's method . 24 hours later, forcing the Min cure dosage group, the Max dosage group and the compare treat group to take medicine. Animals were sacrificed after 14 days, the corneas were taken out for pathological staining ,bacterial culture and were measured the contents of polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN) in corneas by using computer image analysis system.;the blood were taken to test the level of CD4 ,CD8 and the CD4/CD8 ratio.Results:①With the standard of clinical curative effects: in treat group, 14 were cured, 9 had obvious effects, 5 had effects, the rate of clinical cured was 46.67%, the total effective rate was 93.33%; in the contrast group, 7 were cured, 7 had obvious effects, 8 had effects, the rate of clinical cured was 20%, the total effective rate was 73.33%. There are no difference between the two groups (P>0.05).②With the standard of curative effects in the trad.Ch.medicine: in treat group, 17 were cured, 6 had obvious effects, 5 had effects, the rate of clinical cured was 56.67%, the total effective rate was 93.33%; in treat group, 11 were cured, 6 had obvious effects, 6 had effects, the rate of clinical cured was 36.67%, the total effective rate was 76.67%. There are great difference between the two groups (P<0.05).③Seen the disappear rate of usual symptom and the total effective rate, There are obvious difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Compare the treat group with the contrast group, the treat group has obvious advantage in treat ache, awed by light , conjunctival congestion , runing tear.There are significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The data showed that, Qingmutang can improve the clinical symptom of bacteroidal keratitis patients, release their pain, raise their appetite.④The cases in two groups had obvious improvement on their tongue coating and pulse, but no apparent difference with their tongue.⑤The rate of bacterial eradication of the treat group is 76.67%, the contrast group's is 73.33%. There are no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05) .⑥The observation of external eye morphology and the grade shows: At the 2nd day expect the contrast group ,the other four groups had no significent difference (P>0.05), but they were all higher than the contrast group,and had great difference (P<0.05);at the 8th day, the grade of the Min cure dosage group, the Max dosage group and the compare treat group were lower than model group ,the grade of the three group were higher than the contrast group ,and had great difference (P<0.05) , the Max dosage group was lower compare with the the Min cure dosage group, but had no great difference (P>0.05); at the 14th day, the grade of the Min cure dosage group, the Max dosage group and the compare treat group were lower than model group ,and had great difference (P<0.05), the grade of the three group were higher than the contrast group ,and had no difference (P>0.05),and there are no significant difference among the grade of the Min cure dosage group, the Max dosage group and the compare treat group (P>0.05).⑦The bacterial amount of cornea shows: the bacterial amount of the Min cure dosage group, the Max dosage group and the compare treat group were lower than model group (P<0.05),and higher than contrast group ,but there had no great difference among them (P>0.05) . The Max dosage group and the Min cure dosage group were lower compare with the model group (P<0.05),and the Max dosage group was lower than the Min cure dosage group, but there had no great difference (P>0.05).⑧The contents of polymorphonuclear leukocyle(PMN) in cornea shows: the Min cure dosage group, the Max dosage group and the compare treat group were lower than model group (P<0.05),and lower than contrast group ,but there had no great difference among them (P>0.05) . The Max dosage group and the Min cure dosage group were lower compare with the model group (P<0.05),and the Max dosage group was lower than the Min cure dosage group, but there had no great difference (P>0.05).⑨The level of CD4,CD8 and the ratio CD4/CD8 shows: the level of CD4 and CD8, the Min cure dosage group and the Max dosage group were higer than the compare treat group, model group and contrast group , there had signifencent difference among them (P<0.05) . The Max dosage group were higher compare with the Min cure dosage group ,but there had no great difference (P>0.05).The CD4/CD8 ratio is steady,there had no obvious difference amongthe five groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:①Qingmutang has showed obvious treatment to bacterial keratitis ,it can prevent the formation anddevelopment of corneal uler . The side effect on heart,liver,kidney,blood system and other importment organs were not found,and no one were poisoned.②Qingmutang could improve the level of CD4 and CD8, raise the immunity,reduce the bacterial amount and the contents of PMN in cornea .So the bacteroidal keratitis can be healed effectually.
