Clinical Study On Treating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome(PCOS) Of Renal Deficiency With Injecting Plancenta Histolysate And Orally Taking Chloramiphene

Background: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most frequent disease of femail endocrine system. The main clinical manifestation of PCOS includes abnormal menstruation and ovulation, infertility, fatness, hypertrichosis and acne. It has one third in anovulatory infertility around. Treating the patients who demand pregnancy with Chloramiphene is preffered, but that might cause the complication such as inadequate luteal function, ropy cervical mucus property, luteinized unrupture follicle syndrome (LUFS), thus it seems to be paradox while there' s a concomitance with high rate of ovulation and low rate of pregnancy. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a cognition on PCOS that its pathogenesis is based on renal deficiency, therefore with the dialectical treatment is indeed effective on improving the rate of pregnancy, it has been proved by some of clinical research. Searching for a brand new treatment integrated traditional and western medicine, of high performance and less side effects will be hot spot in the future clinical research.Objective: With a randomly antithetical observation on the curative effect about treanting PCOS patients of renal deficiency and infertility with TCM treament by injecting Plancenta Histolysate and orally taking Chloramiphene, to make analysis about the curative effect.Methods: According to the diagnostic criteria, from Mar 2007 to Jan 2008, 56 PCOS patients at 20-36 years old were observed, those from gynecologycal out-patient clinic of Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital, who had been married and demanded pregnancy. A prospective, random and antithetical experimental study was conducted, 56 patients were randomly divided into three groups: 16 patients in the control group were treated by orally taking Chloramiphene; 22patients in the experimental group were treated with injecting Shenshu, Zigong,, Sanyinjiao with Plancenta Histolysate compounding the treatment of the control group I; 16 patients in the control group II were treated by injecting the same acupoint as experimental group with NS, and compounding the treatment of the control group I. Keeping observation on the patients to found the differeces among three groups in several aspects, such as follicular development, frequency of ovulation, basal body temperature(BBT), menstrual cycle, improvement on Chinese Medical syptom, pregnancy and the side effects, so as to evaluate the curative effect on treating PCOS patients of renal deficiency and infertility with TCM treament by injecting Plancenta Histolysate and orally taking ChloramipheneResults:1. The total effective rate of the experimental group, the control group I and the control group II is 95.5%, 87.5%, 93.7%. There' s no conspicuous difference among three groups (P>0. 05) in statistical analysis. We could think that all of the three groups have a reasonable curative effect.2. The numbers of cycles that forming dominant follicle and ovulation has no marked difference among three groups (P>0. 05).3. Observation on BBT, there' s a noticeable difference in typical diphasic BBT between experimental group and the control group I (P< 0. 001). And there' s marked differences in untypical diphasic BBT, between the experimental group and the control group II, and between the control group II and the control group I (P<0.05). No prominent difference has been found in the other interclass comparison(P>0.05).4. On the observation to the improvement of Chinese Medical symptoms of renal deficiency such as menstrual volume, amenorrhea, abnormality of menstrual color and property, waist soreness, dizziness, tinnitus, tongue demonstration and pulse tracings, it shows conspicuous differences among experimental group, the control group I and the control group II.Conclusion:The treatment to the PCOS patients of kidney dificency, with injectio ad acumen invigorating the kidney (Plancenta Histolysate combined with the acupoints invigorating the kidney), and orally taking Chloraminphene has been proved to be safe, effective, economic and easily performed. It has predominance in the general curative effect on Chinese Medical symptoms: after treatment the patients has showed visible improvement on several symptoms of renal deficiency such as menstrual cycle, menstrual volume, menstrual color, menstrual property, waist soreness, dizziness, tinnitus, tongue demonstration and pulse tracings. The results showed that injecting with Plancenta Histolysate has a better performance than injecting acupoint without drug, and the latter is better than merely taking Chloraminphene. As time for research and numbers of patients are both limited, no certain evidence could be found to prove that the treatment with jnjecting Plancenta Histolysate combined with taking Chloraminphene has a better effctiveness than only taking Chloraminphene on improving the rate of pregnancy. In spite of that, as a brand new treatment integrated traditional and western medicine , it deserves to be explored.
