Study On The External Use Of Chinese Medicine "Youkeluo" On The Treatment For CA

Background:Condylomata Acuminata(CA)is caused by the human papilloma virus(HPV).They are most often on the genitals and anus,which mainly transmited by the sexual contact.There are at least 100 different types of antigen of HPV,including low-risk types and high-risk types.And the high-risk types are closely linked with cancer of anus.And most of the CA are caused by HPV Types 6 and 11.CA are one of the most co,on sexually transmitted diseases(STD)all over the world,and recurrent in high rate. There have been a lot of studies and clinical observation proving that genital HPV infection is linked with cancer of the cervix,glans penis, anus and more.As it endangered to our health,more and more people have concentrating on the prevention and treatment for CA.According to TCM,CA is caused by Damp-heat which invades skin and membrane of genitals and congregates in the local place.the Damp-heat is chronical affecting and easily wears away Qi,so it is difficult to be treated with.Oral medicine or/and external medicine are used in the treatment for CA in TCM.In western medicine chemistry,surgery and immunotherapy are used to eliminate genital warts.And the chemical treatment includes podophyllin, podophyllotoxin,3%ftibamzone,80-90%trichloroacetic acid solution. Surgery treatment includes cryotherapy,laser,electrosurgery,surgery cutting and microwave therapy etc.Immunotherapy includes 5%imprimod cream,interferon,self inoculation from one site to another.And there are report on using radiation to treat CA.HPV vaccine has been used in United States nearly,and has good result in prevention of CA.Overall,either Chinese medicine or Western medicine has a good efficacy on treating CA.Nevertheless,they still have recurrent latence. It is safer and less inexpensive using Chinese medicine.It' s a focus on inventing a new drug of TCM for treating CA that is convinient to use and low recurrcent.Objective:To observe the effect and efficacy of Youkeluo and the podophyllotoxin in the treatment for CA and prove the curative effect of Youkeluo after treatment.And also to observe the clinical effect of Youkeluo in treating CA,and prove it is possible to direct our clinical practice and to make basic of the development of new method by using traditional Chinese medicine.This study includes:1.The efficacy of Youkeluo treatment for CA.2.Study on the recurrent rate of CA.3.Study on the ability of clearing away the virus after treatment.4.Observation on the safety of Youkeluo in the treatment for CA.Method:60 cases of patients who had genital warts were randomly divided into 2 groups,the ratio between study group and control group is 2:1.Study group(40 cases)was treated with Polyer.Control group(20 cases)was treated with podophyllotoxin(Youtuoxin).Both groups' patients were treated with the medicine according to its standard usage. the efficacy,the recurrent rate,the ability of clearing away the virus and the safety before and after therapy are observed.Results:1.In study group(Youkeluo),31 cases were cured,4 cases ineffective,the total efficacy being 88.6%.In control group(Youtuosin), 14 cases were cured,3 cases ineffective,the total efficacy being 82.4%, which was similar to study group(p＞0.05).2.3 months later after treatment in cured cases:25 cases hadn't recurrented in study group, 6 cases had recurrented,and the total recurrent rate in study group is 19.4%.11 cases hadn't recurrented in control group,3 cases had recurrented,and the total recurrent rate is 21.4%,which is similar to study group(p＞0.05).3.3 weeks later after treatment in cured cases:the results of HPV-DNA-PCR:26 cases were negative in study group,5 cases were negative,and the total negative rate in study group is 83.4%.12 cases were negative in control group,2 cases were positive,and the total negative rate is 85.7%.3 months later after treatment in cured cases:the results of HPV-DNA-PCR:23 cases were negative in study group,8 cases were negative,and the total negative rate in study group is 74.2%.11 cases were negative in control group,3 cases were positive,and the iotal negative rate is 78.6%.Both negative rates are simiar(p＞0.05).4.There had no difference in both groups on the blood examinations before and after the therapy,In study group,there were 27 patients suffering short-term erosion,3 suffering long-term erosion and 4 feeling itching and burning at the same time during the treatment,In control group,there were 11 patients suffering short-term erosion,2 suffering long-term erosion and 2 feeling itching and burning at the same time during the therapy.There are no significant difference of side effects between the two groups (p＞0.05).Conclusion:External use of the Chinese medicine Youkeluo is excellent in treatment for CA and clearing away the virus,low in the rate of recurrence,irritation and side effects.We can see that both medicines have similar effecacy.Youkeluo is a promising drug in the field of treatment for CA.
