Objective:To investigate the relationship between hypertension patients with hyperuricemia and carotid atherosclerosis. Methods:XinJiang Coal Mine General hospital during July 2006 to september 2007 inpatients in Cardiovascular Medicine for medical research subjects,To choose hypertension patients with hyperuricemia 35 cases, only 33 cases of patients with hypertension, hyperuricemia alone 28 patients with normal control group of 30 patients,a total of 126 cases, all of a neck vascular ultrasound testing, and routinely recorded the patient's age, sex, abdominal circumference, smoking history, blood lipids and biochemical indicators of the Group, observed the carotid atherosclerosis happening.Results:(1) hypertension with hyperuricemia group(group A),simply hypertension group(group B),hyperuricemia alone(group C) and the normal control group(group D) carotid atherosclerosis rates were 91.43%,66.7%,60.71%and 40%(x~2=19.45,P<0.05);group A and Group B,Group C and Group D compared carotid atherosclerosis was significantly increased(P<0.0083);Group B Group C and Group D, compared with carotid atherosclerosis incidence rate increased(P<0.0083);group B and Group C carotid atherosclerosis was no significant difference(P>0.0083).(2) Group A, Group B,Group C HDL-C levels were 1.16±0.37mmol/L,1.16±0.25 mmol/L, 1.12±0.18mmol/L,lower than the D group 1.36±0.32 mmol/L(P<0.05);A,B,C among the three groups HDL-C level no significant difference(P>0.05).(3) group A waist level for 90.40±5.90cm,higher than the 85.52±5.03cm Group D(P<0.05),and the remaining group waist level in each group had no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1) who have hypertension or have hyperuricemia carotid atherosclerosis were higher than normal;(2) Hypertension with hyperuricemia in patients with more carotid atherosclerosis, suggesting that hyperuricemia in patients with hypertension may promote the carotid atherosclerosis formation.
