The Study Of Characteristic And Correlative Factors On TCM Syndrome Of Depression

Objective: To explore the characteristic and correlative factors on familiar TCM syndrome of depression, then explore pathogenesis and development further with which new thought and treatment would be supplied.Method: By collecting clinical information of the patients suffering primary depression, and analyzing symptoms and signs with the statistic methods of chi-square test and Logistic regression, generally explore characteristics among different TCM syndromes, stressing information strong related to certain TCM syndromes; on this basis, analyze the pathogenesis and development of depression combined with TCM theory.Result: There were certain differences in make-up of syndromes, signs and personal information among different TCM syndromes. age and character in personal information correlated strong with"Yang-qi depression and spirit regression syndromes"and"Phlegm-heat disturbing spirit". In addition, complexion, tongue sign and pulse sign played great role in syndrome differentiation.Conclusion: spirit regression due to Yang-qi depressing was primary pathogenesis of depression, which went from the beginning to the end of the disease. Familiar TCM syndromes had different characteristics:"Yang-qi depression and spirit regression syndrome"had the characteristic of"morning aggravation and evening relief", and character, age, complexion and tongue sign were related to the syndrome."Phlegm-heat disturbing spirit syndrome"distinguished in anxiety somatization, complexion and tongue sign were related to syndrome."Qi-yin deficiency syndrome"was characteristic of decline of physical function, without difference between day and night.
