Therefore, prevention andtreatment of depression has positive significance.Traditional Chinese medicine believes that emotional activity is themind control, but has close relationship with liver. Liver, lead body Qi,can ease of mind. So the functio of liver to govern free flow of qi isnormal has the extremely vital significance to regulate the normal humanemotion. The competition of modern society, the increasingly rapid paceof life, work, learning more and more pressure, due to the emotionaldiscomfort, catharsis liver loss in normal, lifting Qi dysfunction, blooddisorders, the progression of the disease process, not only the dirtyprone to disease, often easy to sweep it dirty, and prone to depression.In this paper, on issues related to depression, liver thephysiological function as the breakthrough point, a theory of development,liver’s connotation and TCM etiology and pathogenesis of depression, apreliminary theoretical basis on treatment of depression from liver. Theliver function failure and depression have certain relevance, in order to provide a method for the treatment of depression.
