Since Hoppock's classical research on job satisfaction in 1935, it has attracted wide attention and has played an important part in organizing collective diagnosis and management motivation. Other relevant researches testified that medical professionals'job satisfaction is highly related to their decisions to change a job, quality of their servce, their efficiency as well as patients'satisfaction. Hence, it is of vital importance for a hospital to implement fair and sound evaluatons of it's personnel's job satisfaction, expose and wipe off drawbacks in its management system to help retain qualified facalties and stable professional panels, which can ultimately help attract patients and enhance its competitive capacity.In our research we adopted a combination approach of theories and field research, opted for classical psychological theories and public administration theories as our guidance. After thorough analyses of empirical research results we extracted our conclusions and put forth proposals. The paper first talks about significance of job satisfaction research and makes clear that it focuses mainly on job satisfaction of Changshu medcial professionals. Then it proposes measures to enhance such satisfaction. After combing relevant theories on job satisfaction, it reveals contents of this concept, relevant theories and measuring methods, thus establishing an theoretical arena for the present research.Under the guidance of theories, we carried out field research of medical professionals'job satisfaction in Changshu in form of questionnaires and follow-up interviews. Thorough analyses lead to the following findings: the overall satisfaction is rather low, especificially on job risk, rewards and distribution systems; among personal attribute variables, besides gender other factors like age, education, titles and section offices constitute evident differences. Finally, with the above findings well taken into consideration and with those facets scoring low as emphases, the present paper tries ot offer effective measures to better Changshu medical professionals'job sat isfaction.
