An Investigation Of Nursing Service Intervene Mode Of Family-caring For The Aged

Objective: The investigation attempts to analyze the needs of medical, nursing and social paying service when the only child's parents care for the aged, and to study the influencing factors of the needs. The author analyze and summarize the way of nursing service in the family-caring for the aged, search for home nursing mode for the aged, and then discussed the infrastructure of the corresponding service system according to the needs.Methods: The Only child's parents of Shijiazhuang were investigated by questionnaires-mailing. The contents of questionnaire are features of population, disease of the aged and the needs of medical, nursing and social service. Descriptive Statistics, Chi-square tests, Binary Logistic Regression were performed to study the needs and the influencing factorsResults: There are 1403 people who have finished the questionnaire, and 1320 valid questionnaires were got,include 619 men and 701 women. The results showed as followed:1 Bathing was considered to be the most difficult task for caring for the aged.2 More than 50 percent people said that they need the daily living service except buying something for the elderly. The most required daily life service is to employ someone to take care of the old, and the least one is to help the elderly buying something. There was significant difference between different education background, different jobs and different self-satisfaction of income in daily living service. Except for this, employing service of the only child's parents required was also associated with the condition of diseases of the elderly.3 More than 50 percent people said that they need the medical treatment, nursing and social service except accompanying the aged to go out. About 87 percent need diagnosis and treatment service, 85.6 percent need transfusion and injection service, 80.8 percent need connecting with the doctor, and 74.3 percent need the information about geracomium. Health of the elderly is the most important thing for the only child's parents. Medical service is the most important service among all the people investigated.Medical service was only associated with more diseases the elderly had by Binary Logistic Regression. But nursing and social service were also associated with gender, education level, self-satisfaction of income and had history of care for the elderly.Conclusion: The only child's parents need all of the service when they take care of their parents at home. And the medical service is the most important requirement. Now specialization of geriatric nursing is imperative because of population aging. Accordingly, geriatric nursing should face community. We should develop nursing service institution, and train more professional staff of geriatric nursing. The care system of the aged in our country: The home-based and community-based care is the core part of the system and the residential care is also an important supplement.
