Objective To analyse the present situation of job satisfaction of contract nurses and compare the differences of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, turnover intention between contract nurses and formal nurses; study the relationship among job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention of contract nurses. Nursing administrators may use the findings of this study as a guideline for developing effective strategies to increase level of job satisfaction of contract nurses, cultivate their organizational commitment and decrease the rate of turnover.Methods 350 subjects were obtained by using proportional stratified random sampling method. Data collecting was conducted in Qilu Hospital, The Second Hospital of Shandong University, as well as Shandong Provincial Hospital. Research instruments used in this study has four parts, including the demographic questionnaire, the nurses' job satisfaction scale, the organizational commitment scale and the turnover intention scale. SPSS version 10.0 was used for data analysis. The situation of contract nurses' job satisfaction was analyzed by adopting the methods of Mean and Standard Deviation in statistics.
