Study Of The Old People's Quality Of Life And Its Influence Factors In Henan Province

Background: Quality of life, also named as life quality, was defined as a comprehensive measurement of physical fitness, psychology and social adaptive ability percepted by individuals or population, which is a subjective and multidimensional index. Old people's quality of life refers to their satisfaction degree of their physical condition, psychology state and social communication and so on. It accords with modern medicine mode, which consists of physical, psychological and social elements ,and the definition about health formulated by WHO, which says that health is not only non-disease but also a goodness of physical, psychological and social condition.For a long time, people have been understanding health as non-diseases and disabilities according to traditional mode in which sickness rate, death rate and life expectancy are often used as measure index of fitnes . However, with disease spectra turning from cute disease to chronic disease, and medicine mode changing to organism-psychology-social mode, people have altered their view of life quality. Experts universally have started to use life quality as measure index of health. In China , researches of life quality began from middle 1980s , and so far many papers in their field have been found , among which the majority are concerned with the old , and the population with chronic disease and cancer.This research focuses on investigating old people's life quality in Henan province, and studying their chronic disease, daily life ability and the influence figures, to find out the influence figures of their life quality .This activity is expected to improve the old people's life quality and to present some reference to governmental decisions concerning protecting the old people's fitness and benefits. Objective: To investigate the quality of life of aged people and its possible influence factors.
