| This study, basing on the basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Combination of TCM with Western Medicine,systematically and intestively explores the etiological factors and therapeutic methods for ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in active phase from both theoretical and clinical aspects. The research considers the west heat toxin blocking via and net and reaching to stone and arthrosis as the main causes of AS in active phase,and accordingly adopts eliminating hiding toxin and penetrating heat evil as the main therapeutic method. In study, Simiaosan with Sishenjian detection is taken as the test group with Lei Gong Teng Duo Dai Tableas as control one and with 30 subjects in test group and 15 subjects in control group. The clinical results shows the controlled and effective rate test group in 76.7% with 36.7% in control one (p<0.01), the total effective rate in test group in 93.3% with 73.3% in control one(p<0.05). The aspects of eliminating symptoms improving laboratory index and total function index , the test group is superior to the control one(p<0.01 or p<0.05). The mechanism might be relate to restraining pathogenic microbe and anti-inflammation, relieving pain, regulating immunological function, improving hemorheological index and bettering microcirculation, etc. In such view, it treats AS effectively in poly-side.
