Objective Labor pain is a common cause of acute pain in obstetrics, yet pain relief and parturient satisfaction are still inadequate in many cases. The present study was conducted to determine whether prepartal assessment by quantitative sensory testing(QST) could predict the level of pain and analgesia in labor,to determine the feasibility of using QST metheds in clinical and provide theoretical basis for individuating labor analgesia,in the meantime extend the usage of QST.Methods 1,The study population:the group of parturients: 100 primiparae were randomly selected from the subjects who had been accepted for QST in our hospital from march 2003 to march 2004,inclusion criteria were as follows:ASA I — II ,the age of 25 to 32 years old,the gestational age of 38 to 41 weeks, singleton pregnancy, vertex presentation,no relative cephalopelvic disproportion,no pathological obstetrical conditions during prenatal examination;the group of normal control was composed of 100 women who were healthy volunteers:the age of 23 to 32 years old.all the people in the study had no medical or neuropsychic diseases.2,To measure the threshold of cold sense(CP),warm sense(WP)> cold pain(CP), heat pain(HP),which type of QST was related to labor pain and analgesia, the datas were divided into two groups evenly:the high sensitive group and the low sensitive group, then analysed difference between two groups.3,Fentanyl 15ug and ropivacain 3mg were injected respectively into subarachnoid space. The PCA(patient-controlled analgesia) pump(0.15%ropivacaine and 2ug/mlfentanyl) was applied to supply analgesia, when uterine...
