Objective: The concentrations of the serum insulin-like growth factor-I(IGF-1),bone specific alkaline phosphatase (BAP) and osteocalcin (OC) are measured in children of idiopathic short stature(ISS) and try to explore the relationship between these indexs and growth of children. That may give us some important information for the etiology, prognosis and treatment.Method: The serum samples of ISS children are collected from the center of Growth and Development in paediatrics department of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University, the nomal serum are collected from Cangzhou center hospital. Shape indexs of height, weight, body mass index and HtSDS are determined and measure bone age by evaluating ossificative index at hand and wrist by CHN method. Four millilitres of fast venous blood are collected at the same time (8-10 A.M.) for each child. The samples are placed at room temperature for 2-4 hours until the blood completely coagulated. Then the serum are separated by centrifugation at 3000 rpm lasted 5 minutes and stored in a refigerabo at -20°C. All of determining processes are accomplished in one time. The concentrations of the serum IGF-1,BAP and OC are measured...
