| Objective To study the curative effect and influencing factor of plasma exchange (PE) which is one kind of artificial liver support system(ALSS) in the treatment of severe hepatitis .Methods The clinical curative effect on severe hepatitis 129 cases treated with PE on the basis of comprehensive internal medicine was systematically reviewed. Including sex, age, TBil, the relationship between the number of treatment and the curative effect. Results The 129 patients were treated by PE for a total of 344 times, good effect and discharged 65 cases.no effect 64 cases, 51. 85% in the patients aged 20~30 years. The more severe the jaundice was, the worse the curative effect was. The effective rate reached 75% in the patients with TBil 300~400umol/l. The case of effectiveness reached 72.9% in the patients treated by 2~4 times. Conclusion PE is one of the effective approaches for rescuing severe hepatitis , and also has certain effect in preventing various complications. It is important for selecting of appropriate patients and appropriate time to get optimal effect of ALSS during treatment of severe hepatitis.
