A Case Control Study Of Risk Factors On Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Protrusion

Objective: LIDP is the common desease in the clinic, the morbidity rise up in the recent year, prevention of the desease and cutting down the morbidity of it is a important question now, This study armed at exploring the risk factors for LIDP, establish initially the high risk group of LIDP,which will help for the prevention of the desease.Methods: A case control study was conducted , The subjects include 58 patients (36 male and 22 female, aged from 18 to 75 years ) from different hospitals in Guangzhou and 50 normal controls( 36 male and 22 female , aged from 22 to 75 years) . in the subject, 51 from the Guang Dong Hospital of TCM, 4 from The First Affiliated Hospital Of Guangzhou University Of TCM, 10 from Guang Zhou Huadu Hospital Of TCM, 3 from Yuexiou Hospital Of Orthopaedices, For each people of the subjects and normal controls, a standard questionnaire was used to survey. The available data were analyzed by monofactorial variance and multivariate Logistic regression mode.Result: With the standard of P<0. 05, The monofactorial analysis revealed that long forward bending sitting (P=0.004), smoking (P=0.01),injury (P=0.002), tension factor (P=0.002) are correlated with LIDP(p<0.05). The mutlifactorial analysis revealed that injury, tension factor are strongly correlated with LIDP(p<0.05). Conclusion: injury, tension factor are identified as risk factors of LIDP.
