The urinary tract infection (UTI) is the common infective disease of theurinary system, that the females are the major patients, whose morbidity is onlylower than the respiratory infection. The main therapy of western medicine isthe antibiotic treatment, which can alleviate the symptoms rapidly, but it can’tdecrease the morbidity and mortality. Through combining the Traditional Chineseand Western Medicine, treating UTI can decrease the morbidity and reduce theside effects of antibiotics obviously.Professor Zhao Gang has been engaged in medical for more than twenty years, and has rich experiences in treating diseases of the urinary system. ProfessorZhao thinks it is the female’s physiological structure and complex factors, that leads to females easier to be infected and relapse. The Chinese medicinepathogenesis is the deficiency of the kidney and dampness-heat accumulating inbladder. During the treatment, we need to eliminate complex factors first. Thendepending on the clinical symptoms, divide it into different stages and foursyndrome types. Professor Zhao also emphasizes that treat secondary symptomsfor emergency and focus on primary symptoms in the chronic stage.
