Research On Detection Of Accident-prone Locations For The Rural Roads

In recent years, as the rapid development of Chinese economy, the traffic conditions in rural areas have improved, the rural roads have been rapidly developed, and in some areas they have achieved the road buildings between every village. This is one of the basic conditions for practicing the "Three Represents", building the socialism new countryside and structuring the harmonious society. However, duing to various factors, rural roads'traffic safety problems are becoming obviously more and more, rural roads'traffic accidents have been increasing and showing a high trend, and they have posed a serious threat and damage to people's lives and property. It's an urgent issue to reduce rural traffic accidents.On the basis of the rural roads investigation in Xianyang, the paper analyses the present situation and roads safety problems. Using combination methods between investigation and theoretical analysis, it analyses several main reasons for impacting the rural roads traffic safety, such as people, vehicles, roads, environment and traffic management.By analyzing and studying the previous definition of traffic accident-prone locations, the paper gives a more scientific and comprehensive new definition and expatiates its connotation to facilitate study and application.The paper analyses some methods which have been used to distinguish the traffic accident-prone locations, and discusses their respective applicability. For the characteristics of rural road traffic safety, it proposes detection of accident-prone locations for the rural roads, the main ingredient - cluster analysis. This method has been successfully applied for detection of traffic accident-prone locations of Yongle Village - Fire shizui Road.The paper concludes with a synthesis traffic environment prevention and treatment measures of an accident-prone location, and paradises two specific accident-prone locations improvements of Yongle Village - Fire shizui.
