Architecture is one of the basic human practices, and also is an important part in human culture. There is a long history of building development in China, as early as the end of already taking shape in the primitive society. Until feudal society, tremendous splendid architectural achievements were created based on the wisdom of the masses of working people and the accumulated experiences. A peak of construction development was in Tang-Song Dynasty. From the single building to building groups, and to the town planning, all reflect the unique historical value, with integrating the technology and art in one. This is a precious heritage of ancient Chinese culture.Sichuan region has a long history and a profound cultural foundation, there are many units of cultural relics and they are widely distributed. But due to the limitation period of preservation of wooden buildings, and the weather easily making the wood corrosion, the number of wooden buildings from Tang-Song Dynasty can easily be counted. The only excellent one is in Sichuan Jiangyou Doutuan mountain flying. The surviving architectural heritages are mostly brick or stone structure, and the mainly part of these buildings are Cliff, pagodas, and tombs, which reflected the building shape in Sichuan from the other side. These unique buildings have witnessed the rise and fall of Sichuan history, and are rooted in the lives of local people. Some of them are historical sites, some are urban signs, and some are even still the devout Buddhists of the Holy Land. Sichuan buildings not only carry a large number of cultural and historical information, but also are the wisdom of ancient craftsmen of Sichuan. It has a positive effect on the research of ancient Sichuan architecture history, and is a rarely precious cultural heritage. The Tang-Song Dynasty architectural history is an important period of ancient Sichuan architectural culture and construction skills. Being influenced by the social economic system and other aspects, urban planning changed gradually from the inside square to neighborhood-style, making the development of the city more abundant and convenient, and there was the country known as the big cities - Chengdu. However, the roads in Sichuan had been dangerous for centuries, so the urban development was unbalanced. However, the communication of the architectural culture and technology was not blocked, such as multiple Cliff's dig, the construction of pagodas, which had inherited the thousands of years of construction techniques in Sichuan. For example, both the stone and the pagoda building had reflected the traditional form just as "castles" and "Xu Mizuo". The type of Sichuan pagoda was very rich, covering almost all types of China Tower, and there were many pagodas are Sichuan style and construction of unique styling features. The war in the last of Song Dynasty even led the appearance of unique defensive urban and architecture, which still remain today. In this thesis, I focus on the Sichuan Architectural History– Tang-Song Dynasty, according to the line of expression to the city, architecture, technology and the culture, discussing the background of history, type characteristics, urban and architectural features and the technology of building and art of Sichuan architecture history——Tang-Song Dynasty.
