Painting is one of the greatest innovation of human beings.It is a mean of expressing wishes and it leaves and records the important information of life, production and aesthetic at that time. Architectural appearance in painting at different times reflects the information of living condition and spiritual pursuit directly or indirectly. It provides us the possible to understand the architectural condition in that time. Because of the shorting of architectural data in Tang and Song dynasties, this article which selected the comprehensive information in Tang and Song dynasties mains to reveal the incisive of the painting, meanwhile, adds the blank of the history and provides a completely new angle to urban and social subjects and the relevance subjects.The point of my article is study the architectural appearance in Tang and Song dynasties painting. At first, comparing the reference architectural history with relic urban and building, I analyze the architectural expression in painting of distribution,form,construction,environment and the the social background,position of the painting themselves to verify its truth. The article aim to confirm its reliability as architectural data through analyzing. Second, I study the visual dictionary of architecture with imagine color, unscramble the advancement and pioneer spirit in these architectural landscape,explain the thoughts of architects and painters about ideal city and building or building environment at that times. No matter whether the landscape architecture would be built by the technological level at that time, it explains the individualized consideration in building of the artists. Finally, we explain the buildings in the paintings through scientific method and restore the architecture and space scene through summary the building types of Tang and Song dynasties at the same timeusing model making, virtual reality and color refining. At last provide enough basis and guidance for the recovery and protection, as well as maintenance of modern architectural legacy of Tang and Song dynasties.The article supplements the lacking of the architectural history information through the research on Tang and Song dynasties painting.
