Research On Urban Industrial Heritage

The PRC Cultural Relics Protection Law was promulgated in 1982.It symbolizes the protection system of historical and culture heritage has been formed .But there is almost no attention on protection of industrial heritage. In recent years, with the rapid development of urbanization, many cities'heritage industry has to face the important decision whether to exist or vanish. "The Wuxi Suggestion" became the first programmatic document about the protection of industrial heritage in April 2006.As a key component of the human society heritage, the industrial heritage is paid more attention for its particular value. Foreign study on industrial heritage appeared in the 1950s and 1960s. It stemmed from Britain the originator of Industrial Revolution. The industrial heritage research was still at the immature stage in the Western developed country. There's not systematic and complete theory to offer reference. How to combine the results of the western researches with the practice of China to expand the study area in industrial heritage is a vital topic.Through the whole inspection and the case analysis method, based on the concepts, the values, the category of the industrial heritage, the article analyzed the modern industrial heritage and contemporary industrial heritage. By comparative studies of protection and reuse at home and abroad, the article put forward the new idea of protecting and reusing—the development of industrial heritage tourism, the article choosed Dalian ship industrial heritage tourism as an important analyzed objective. The research is divided into five parts, as following:The first chapter: Introduction. Based on the background of urban industrial heritage, it analyzed the questions of industrial heritage reuse, and pointed out the practical guidance of the research.Chapter two: The development and industrial heritage in China. Firstly, the meaning and value of industrial heritage were defined, and then analyzed the international identification standards and China's current identification category of industrial heritage. It holds that division of modern industrial heritage (1840-1949) and contemporary heritage (after 1949) reflected the features of the historical stage of our country's industrial heritage. Finally, it analyzed the recognition of potential industrial heritage and the identification of national industrial heritage. It is a theoretical foundation for the following study.Chapter three:The practice of the protection and the using of the industrial heritage at home and abroad. Through the studies of patterns of the industrial heritage protective reuse at home and abroad, taking Beijing 798 Creative Industries Park and Ruhr industrial area of Germany as example, the article analysed the development trends and characteristics of the protection and using of industrial heritage at home and abroad.Chapter four:The new idea of protecting and reusing of industrial heritage—the development of industrial heritage tourism. Firstly, the meaning and characteristics of resource of industrial heritage were defined, It hackled development of domestic and foreign literature and reviewed the foreign and domestic researches and the exiting problems. Research on the patterns of the development success stories of the industrial heritage tourism. The article choosed Dalian ship industrial heritage tourism as an important analyzed objective.Chapter five:Conclusion. It summarized the conclusions of the study. At last it discussed the limitations of the industrial heritage tourism's research and the further research.
