The Organic Growth Planning Method Study Of Small Cities In The Northwest Loess Plateau

Because in the recent years, the economy of China converts to a market economy quickly, and the rate of economic growth continues to grow steadily, also all Chinese are working hard to build a harmonious society, so the functions and roles of many small cities in the northwest Loess Plateau are changed. Because of the unique geographical location and characteristics of the region which lead to the imbalance in economic and social development, so city planning has generally lagged behind. In the past, most of the small cities planning are studied and conducted in a small region, it didn't integrate the industrial cooperation in and between the regions using a good forward-looking vision; it didn't have good expansibility which is really needed as the space of the city grows rapidly; moreover, because the natural environment in the region is not good, the protection of the ecological environment and sustainable development have become a critical issue that city planning faces. In this case, we need study the comprehensive planning methods to promote the city's development of organic growth, and to solve the problems that exist in the planning and construction. Therefore, the thesis mainly focused on the organic city planning method of the small cities in the Loess Plateau in northwestern areas.Firstly, the thesis analyzed the natural, social and cultural characteristics of the Loess Plateau in northwestern China region, analyzed the rule of the city development and evolution, analyzed the characteristics of cities, and then analyzed the situation and problems that the small cities planning faced from various perspectives. The thesis then discussed the new method of town planning from a lot of aspects, including the planning theory, regional coordination, city content and space expansion. This new method can regulate the relationship between the city's ecological environment, economic activity and the spatial structure, to raise the connotations of the city, and implement the city's organic growth.Secondly, the thesis analyzed the characteristics of town planning of small cites at home and abroad, analyzed the concept, content and features of city organic growth from the internal and external geographic area levels. And then it came to the conclusion, that the small city planning of the Loess Plateau in Northwest region needs to use the method of organic growth, pay attention to the regional integration, organic city expansion, rationalization of the structure of city space, habitat environment and other characteristics, to guide the cities to achieve organic growth both in internal and external regional levels.Thirdly, the thesis analyzed the related theories, expounded the theoretical foundation of the organic growth planning method. It's the ideological foundation of the organic growth planning method of small cities in the northwest Loess Plateau which studies the town planning from both internal and external regional levels.Fourthly, according to the theory of city organic growth, using organic growth of a small city and its basic concept and content of the theory as a reference, the thesis analyzed the organic growth method using some examples from a macro (city areas function and the external space) and micro (functional and geographical space within cities) levels, discussed the plan to promote the growth of small cities organic optimization strategy from the direction of city expansion, site layout and functional organization of the space environment in the cites.Fifthly, based on the previous study, the thesis rethought the traditional planning methods, and then summarized the planning optimization strategy of organic growth of the small cities in the region.Finally, going on the premise that the small cities in the region need to maintain their own characteristics, the thesis summarized the planning method of organic growth, also gave the subjects which need further study.
