Study On The Structure And Morphology Of Urban Growth Planning Of Middle And Small Cities In The Eastern Region Of Northwest China

Middle and small cities in the eastern region of northwest China is the main body of the northwest region's city system,at the impact of rapid urbanization,the increasingly acute contradiction between development status and future sustainable development of city space,urgently need a reasonable structure and morphology form of city space to guide city spatial development.The concept"Urban Growth Planning"is a new urban planning thought,aimed at the current city spatial development problems in the northwest region of China,resolving the future city sustainable problems.It is particularly urgent that used the concept"Urban Growth Planning"widely resolving the city spatial development in the eastern region of northwest China, to validate the widely applicability of the concept,and to research the relative structure and morphology pattern of"Urban Growth Planning",associated with the sustainable development of middle and small cities in the eastern region of northwest China.The paper is composed of two major parts,which is the study of relative theory and practice of the"Urban Growth Planning"concept,the"Urban Growth Planning"practice study of the cases of middle and small cities.In first part,through reviewing the theory of eco-city planning,dynamic urban planning,and city spatial structure and morphology,analyzing the relative study and practice of the"Urban Growth Planning"concept,the paper systematically understood and grasped the connotation and action approach of the"Urban Growth Planning",has laid a theoretical foundation for the relative research of the later part.In second part, paper defined the object as three sorts in perspective of terrain:plain city,gully city, plateau-shaped city,respectively,investigated and defined the provincial natural environment and development situation at the macro-level and own natural environment and development situation at the micro-level of the object.Using"Urban Growth Planning"concept to study the spatial development process of middle and small city's cases,paper demonstrated the applicability of"Urban Growth Planning" concept in these cities,and pointed out that because of the difference of the terrain which various cities grew up from,spatial structure and morphology under the"Urban Growth Planning"concept show different characteristics.Respectively,paper has introduced constructive proposal about the"Urban Growth Planning"structure and morphology aimed at three diverse terrains,on the basis of analyzing the characteristics of different cities,suggest urban planning should take appropriate structure and morphology of"Urban Growth Planning".
