Study On Permaculture Eco-village Concept And Its Cases In Community Design

The sustainable concept has gradually been accepted all over the world with respect to almost all aspects of human development. As a new kind of solution, eco-village which was initiated in 1960's, has an active effect on the issues of city infinite sprawls, environmental pollution, resources depletion, and social loneliness. Permaculture as its universality and maneuverability has became an vital principle in Eco-village development. Under the direction of holistic-ecological principle, Permaculture Eco-village are a new sustainable mode which cares for the earth and the people both. It absorbs the sustainability of society, culture and resources from traditional settlement, emphasizing the foundational action of permaculture. In order to create a comfortable, attractive and sustainable community, eco-village integrates both natural technologies and modern ecological technologies, and utilizes the whole system concept of environment design, social skills and energy technologies.The dissertation conducts a wide-scale study covering the subjects of architecture, urban design, ecology, economics and society, which is freed from the limitation of design theory. It studies the modern values and meanings of Permaculture Eco-village according to the actual requirement. Comparing with the Permaculture Eco-villages of different periods and different regions, studying their experiences are helpful to provide theoretical instruction for both sustainable community and new socialism village construction in China.The dissertation provides both theoretical and technological supports for eco-village study, then analyzes its holitic design and theories to the view of systems ecology. Through the integrated study of the development, connotation, ethical principle and design principle, it concludes the characteristic of Permaculture Eco-village. On the base of academic and practical analyzing of scale, resource and environment system, it gets the methods to keep self- regulate. In the research of building a fire share community, the dissertation analyzes its characteristic on land use, limitation of scale, public open space, resource share and ecological education. Finally, based on the development condition in China and the analysis of typical Permaculture Eco-villages, it opens out the revelation, gives directions to village development in China.
