The mixer is the heart of the mixing plants. In the process of the design and use of the mixer, the reasonable selection of mixer parameters which include its structure, movement and work, relates to the quality and efficiency of the concrete or other materials directly. This paper carries on an analytical and trial research for the selection of the main parameters which consist of the alignment of mixing arms, the fixing angle of mixing leaves, the length-width ratio of mixing tube, the rotating speed of the mixer and mixing time.Though summarizing, this paper gives the main parameters of the double-horizontal-shaft mixer including the alignment of mixing arms, the fixing angle of mixing leaves, the length-width ratio of mixing tube, the linear velocity of the mixer; it also gives the standards which can evaluate whether the mixer parameters are reasonable or not; it gives the basic principles of the arm alignment.By the trail research, the thesis suggests using of the material quantity pushed by the leaves and the nominal capacity valueηof the mixer as a synthetically rule which can assess whether the number of mixing arms, the area of the mixing leaves and other parameters are reasonable or not, and the rule may become the reference of the designs; The fixing angle of double-horizontal-shaft mixer's leaves is 31o~45o; The angle of the wide and short type double-horizontal-shaft mixer which uses extensively on the domestic is recommended to 45o; For the double-horizontal-shaft mixer which is popular on the domestic and international, its length-width ratio is 0.7-1.3, and is recommended less than 1; The rotating velocity of the mixer is mainly limited by the phenomenon of the segregation of materials, as to the more popular double-horizontal-shaft mixer, linear speed of its leaves is recommended 1.4m/s -1.7m/s; The reasonable mixing time is the shortest mixing time, but it must ensure the quality. It is influenced by many factors, for example filling rate, and the reasonable mixing time lies on the trail.
