In the process of developing of aircraft landing gear,static strength test is one of the essential link,and it is the precondition to determine whether to install the landing gear.In the traditional research and development of landing gear,physical static strength tests are generally used to verify the static strength carrying capacity of landing gear.Although physical experiments are accurate and credible, but there are also some shortcomings and deficiencies: First,physical test needs enormous cost,and it requires a specialized test places,facilities and fixtures; second,test cycle is long,and it can only be done after the sample test is product,it belongs to a serial work mode from the nature, and efficiency is low; Third,it costs too much to improve product when the test results are not ideal.These issues are very negative for funding and development cycle in the process of developing landing gear.Early,theoretical mechanics,structural mechanics and materials mechanics are used to check the static strength of the landing gear in the aspect of theoretical calculations.These theoretical approaching to practical engineering problems is much simplified,so it can not replace the actual static strength experiments.But with the development of computer technology and finite element analysis,a number of general finite element analysis software,such as PATRAN/NASTRAN,have been widely adopted to the aviation industry to check the static strength carrying capacity of the components or overall of the aircraft landing gear.In recent years,the rise of multi-body system dynamics disciplines and the rapid development of virtual reality technology,set a good foundation for the development of virtual testing technology.In this paper,based on the typical CAD/CAM software CATIA,finite element analysis software PATRAN/NASTRAN and multi-body system dynamics analysis software ADAMS,the exploratory research for the static strength virtual testing technology of aircraft landing gear is done.First,based on the CAD software CATIA,the mian model of aircraft landing gear,Second,transmit the model to ADAMS using SimDesigner.Third cteate MNF files of the five parts of landing gear using software PATRAN/NASTRAN to do the finite element analysis.finally,biuld the rigid-flexible model of the landing gear.Further,the virtual static strength test of aircraft landing gear is done on the rigid-flexible hybrid prototype model.Virtual test shows that the test results are well consist to physical static strength test results of the aircraft landing gear.
