The Positive Research On The Layout Of The Settlements In Xinzhuang, Changshu

The accelerating industrialization and urbanization in Sunan is resulting in rural and urban integration. Private economy booms and the industrial garden expands in Xinzhuang, which well represents the developing small towns in Sunan. By taking a close look at Xinzhuang, we can learn the characters of the urbanizing process in Sunan, as well as the effects of the rural settlements concentrating policy.This thesis aims at analyzing the spatial characters of rural settlements and the economic and social living of rural inhabitants, and judging the trends of the rural settlement development accordingly.This thesis first discusses the spatial character of Xinzhuang rural settlement from three aspects: space distribution, space expansion, and space structure evolution. It is founded that the spatial structure—which the regional elements and regionalism have a great impact on, is reorganizing.Then this thesis analyzes the transition of the economic and social living of the rural inhabitant, and their spatial behavior in a rational choice view. Necessary data is obtained by cases investigating and questionnaire granting.Finally the paper analyzes the trends of the settlement development and the implementation of its concentrating. Based on the analysis, some related referential ideas are proposed.
