The city is developing very fast, it creats a good environment which is important for the co-existing of both the new modern form of living spaces and the old traditional ones. And while along with the high speed of the construction and renovation of the city, the relationship and function between the new and old environment becomes more obvious. The environment of the street ,which is an inclusion of the public spaces is not only a place that has a tight relation with people's life, but also in which every one can experience the new and old environment directly. The chatacter of the the edge of the block in which both new and old environment exist in societal ,culture and corporeal depends that it has its own value of investigation and direction not only in the form and structure of space but also in the expression of the city's culture and people's feelings. So the deep investigation of these factors is to understand the realities of those blocks more.Though the edge of the new and old blocks has its conflicks, we should not ignore its fashion ,sensitivity and the opportunity of developing. This is to say that it has to be rebuilded and conformed by dsigning. The harmonious idea of designing is the way we are looking forward to. It would be a way that at the base of respecting the co-existing of the new and old, analisising the character of the new and old blocks, dealing with the relation of these two correctly, and then creating a more exuberance harmonous modern public spaces.Furthermore,by investigating this edge's environment, making the position of it in designing more clearly and offering a key to its possible development trends, and by using the correct way of designing for reference,we can make the problem to be solved in a more reasonable way.
