With the development of Open policy, growth of market economy and the advanced level of everyday life in China, the construction of Chinese residential changes quickly.However, the situations of residential planning show many problems, which because of the intensity of land resource. Some developers increase the height and density of the constructions and ignore the demands, such as residential 's social behavior and mentality etc. Therefore, Neighbor becomes inhospitality, the quality of pubic views turns worsen. More and more residential areas are losing essence of traditional "home". Residential down in their identity of their residential area and this should be noticed by the architectures and planners.The thesis focuses on the research of residential district of townhouse which based on the space environment design and construct of "JUNLINTIANXIA". The purpose of the research is trying to apply the methods to design and construct the residential district feasibly. The thesis not only combines the urban sociology, behaviorism, city planning and architectonics, but analysis the structure of residential system and space environment as well. Firstly, the thesis defines the concept of townhouse. Secondly, the essence, connotation and characters of space system are analysis. This analysis clears the functions, types and characters of residential area and help to confirm the object and content of residential design. Thirdly, the thesis combines the design of social environment and its construction of project, "JUNLIN TIANXIA", Moreover; the thesis researches the methods, contents of social environment design and its constructions. Lastly, summarize the achievements and problems. Hopefully, it can help in residential district design and its construction theoretically and practically.
