The Application Of Traditional Courtyard Residential Space In Modern Townhouse At Present

China is in the development stage of transition and reconstruction, transition from extensive economic development model to the refinement of the development model, while the construction industry of planning is also facing a transition, from extensive implementation into the refinement of the planning model, people for the quality of urban architecture put forward higher requirements, and paying more attention to the living environment. In recent years, drawing on traditional architectural forms, it is forming a trend that using traditional settlement planning concept and courtyard architectural approach in the residential design. This article mainly discusses the application of Chinese traditional courtyard residence spatial structure in modern townhouse residence.Firstly, this paper describes the background, significance, main object and content of the research, and the domestic and foreign research trends, and explains the main ideas and methods of this research.Secondly, this article through the detailed comparative analysis between the traditional Chinese courtyard space and Southeast Asia traditional house's space, as well as the traditional Chinese courtyard space and modern townhouse residence spatial structure, then doing the feasibility analysis of combining traditional Chinese courtyard space and modern townhouse residence.Thirdly, through the present stage of the existing several successful cases of traditional courtyard and modern townhouse residence, analysis its universality and shortcomings in the real world application, further demonstrate the feasibility of the traditional Chinese courtyard space in modern townhouse building applications.Finally, author participated in Greentown-Yunqi Rose Garden project, then doing detailed analysis of traditional Chinese courtyard further application in modern townhouse residential, and the superiority of traditional Chinese courtyard, getting the inhabited feedback through questionnaires and interviews. It is concluded that combination of Chinese traditional courtyard and modern row houses residential is more suitable for people's physical and psychological needs.In the end, putting forward the advantages and disadvantages of modern townhouses residential construction and development from the point of view of society, economy, culture, and giving some recommendations and making prospect to the application of Chinese courtyard space structure in modem townhouse.
