The economy globalization and the information technology have changed the business environment dramatically,which pushes enterprises to carry out great innovations. Business process reengineering (BPR) is a new management theory congruent with this trend, which can meet the requirements of innovations. It has not been a long time since this theory was introduced to China; The management philosophy and model have big difference between Chinese and foreign enterprises. Under this situation, how to understand and develop this theory has become a common concern both for enterprises and the academic field. Based on the researches at home and abroad,and combined with the realistic situations in domestic automobile parts business,factors influencing business process design are studied in this paper.Beginning with a definition of BPR, the present paper makes a general introduction to the relevant researches and practical applications both at home and abroad, with an emphasis on the analysis of the informatization and business process reengineering in China's automobile parts enterprises. In view of the problems in the implementation of BPR in these enterprises, the causes are explored in this paper through making use of the domestic and foreign experience in field work.In light of the practical situations in these companies, business process reengineering is an urgent need. Therefore, the schemes of business process design and design principles are discussed in detail. Furthermore, the frameworks for business process are designed in accordance with the features of supply chains in Chinese automobile industry and the characteristics of business process peculiar to the automobile parts enterprises.As regard to the factors which influence the business process design, this paper tries to make a thorough analysis in terms of four aspects, that is, vehicle manufactures, suppliers, policy environment and internal environment. All these factors are evaluated by employing fuzzy decision with a detailed demonstration of evaluation process and steps. In addition, a model showing the relationship between these factors and the process design is given, and an application framework for evaluation results are proposed as well.Last but not the least, this paper suggests applying the research results mentioned above to the business process design for a particular company engaging in automobile parts. With an aim at precision and operability, a comprehensive evaluation is made on the factors influencing the business process, according to which, a new business process suited to the company is designed based on the consideration of the problems existing in its original business process management.
