The Bioelectromagnetics is the interdisciplinary knowledge of biology, medicine and electromagnetism. At present, this subject is paid more and more attention when the environment of the electromagnetic field (EMF) around human being is becoming intricate. An electromagnetic biology treatment appliance is introduced in this paper based on above viewpoint.The biological effect of EMF generally includes the thermal effect and the non-thermal effect. The thermal effect is explained in a unique theory that has obtained widely approves, but the non-thermal effect is on the way of theory researching, which is explained from different angle based on its characteristics. And the paper presents these different theories. Many clinical reports and investigates of epidemiology indicate that the low frequency or the extremely low frequency EMF (ELF-EMF) could be beneficial to the human health. So the appliance works by building low frequency pulse EMF.The generator and the detector are two parts of the appliance. The generator outputs and adjusts the voltage signal for pulse EMF, whose hardware and software structure is illustrated in detail in this study. The hardware of the system is composed of the low power microcontroller MSP430F149 used as the core chip and some other sub circuits, for example EMF circuit, keyboard and LCD circuit, battery power measure circuit and etc. Also the software flow chart is shown, including the master routine and some subroutine such as open machine flow and display flow.The detector is used to determine the active status of the generator. The paper summarizes the available methods of magnetic field measurement, and then, the loop detect technique is selected in this study. The hardware and the software information are illuminated in the paper, including sub circuit module and subroutine flow chart.The result indicates the therapy appliance can achieve the design target and take good effect in daily health protection.
