Research On Community Renewal Design Under New Urbanism

Since the birth of new China,the Chinese process of urbanization has gained worldwide attention and appreciation.However,with the improvement of the urban residents' life quality,the pursuit of rapid urbanization is no longer enough.How to improve the "quality" in newly built and built areas has become an important subject of urban design nowadays.This paper has Based on the New Urbanism and combined with many cases,hoping to find a suitable way for China's urbanization,so we can optimize the quality of community environment,improve the quality of life of residents,appreciated by the elderly and children,Permanent residents and foreign tenants and other different groups.The article can be divided into the following parts:The investigation and analysis show that the old community in our country faces some problems,such as bad environment,traffic occlusion and neglect of management,which leads to the sanitary conditions,infrastructure,greening landscape and terrible street planning in the community.These seriously troubled the community residents and the outside world exchanges,resulting in a series of problems.On the theoretical level,this paper analyzes the specific problems existing in the XMU west village,and designs according to concept of New Urbanism.This paper also involves the principles of "Friendly Street","open community","high quality public space" and "moderate design",etc.On the technical level,this paper summarized the design of renewing the community in economy,ecology and culture by the methods of literature collection,field investigation and interview,model construction.make full use of broken spaces,set up several pocket parks,roof gardens and other public spaces;enrich the elements of streets by using the principles of humanization such as "merchants on street".It is hoped that in this way,problems in the XMU west village can be solved,the residents of the community could get a warm,convenient and united home.And what's more,I hope a new way for the construction of urbanization in China can be provided through this paper.
