Design Of Modern Medium-sized Civic Center

The current urbanization in china has take on some new characteristics,and its theory has also been broaden. Accordingly, the municipal buildingalso taken on some new characteristics, it is taking on more and more publiccharacteristics, more open to outside environment, it act together with theopen space, thus more related and influential to urban life activities. It wasnamed Civil Municipal Center in this paper.The main object of this paper is to sum up this concept of the present-day civic center and its municipal building, and their new evaluation criteriaand new theory and developing methodology, all these are based on casestudies.This paper emphasizes that a modern municipal building of chinapossesses dual functions, it fulfills the works of the municipality itself, andalso fulfills the function of various urban life activities. So it is very importantto consider in its special layout both for needs of the municipality andaccessibility of urban life activities. And the key link lies in the design of thefacade of the municipal building, in order to connect and unite these tworelated functions. It is the special characteristics in the designing of thisspecial type of municipal buildings that distinguish it form other buildingtypes.
