| The cave temples, created by generations of Buddhist monks, are ensemble of some caves that were elaborately decorated . The caves in north China are famous for their beautiful paintings and sculpture that depict legends, portraits, customs, and the arts of China over a one-thousand-year period. Adequate protection will ensure them maintain their cultural significance and their physical integrity, through time and eventual changes, as a document/record for the benefit of current and future generations. In the cave temple conservation field, at present, is not special and systemic thesis about the conservation master plan. The research goal of this paper stems from the realization that the conservation master plan is emergency for the heritage conservation, and research on its stratage is multivalent. This paper assess some sites' heritage values, physical conditions, and discuss the broad risks or threats affecting the rock caves in north China, explores response for the key issues, and its goal is to supply applicative measures to the master plan and other practice in the conservation of cave temples in north China. |
