A Study On Heritage Conservation And Development Of Mrauk-U,Myanmar On Historical Information

Today,in the background of globalization and urbanization,Asian urban heritage conservation has attracted great attention of international heritage conservation due to its complex social factors such as rapid economic expansion,multi-religious culture,multi-ethnic integration and colonial culture.The international cooperation between Asian countries in the protection of urban heritage is rapidly growing,especially under the advocacy of the "one belt and one road" strategy,which is transformed from economic domination strategy to economic and culture strategy,China has gradually strengthened its cultural cooperation with neighboring countries.Especially in 2014,the Silk Road was successfully listed in the cross-regional World Heritage list for the first time.China participated extensively in the cultural heritage protection projects of surrounding countries.Although China has close geographical ties with Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries and abundant research materials,there are still huge gaps in the study of Asian urban heritage in China.Myanmar’s Mrauk-U ancient town heritage project is the first time that Chinese research team participated mainly in the application of World Cultural Heritage for foreign historical cities,and it is also the first comprehensive study of Southeast Asian cities with great significance.By using the method of overall protection of urban historical space based on historical information research,this paper translates the historical urban information of Mrauk-U ancient city into current topographic map,in order to analyze the law of urban space development and change,and excavate the natural,political,economic and cultural connotations behind historical information,so as to complete the study of historical change of Mrauk-U ancient city.Then it integrates the current heritage resources of MraukU ancient city,including social,cultural,historical city landscape,historical space elements,and comprehensively evaluates the historical value of each heritage element of Mrauk-U.Then,it establishes an evaluation system suitable for Mrauk-U city to get the preservation status of Mrauk-U city heritage resources and the operable and available value evaluation of the existing heritage to guide the protection and reuse of Mrauk-U ancient city heritage.Finally,the concept of heritage development is put forward,and the strategies of heritage protection and development with Mrauk-U characteristics are put forward,which can help MraukU to apply for World Heritage and provide an example for the protection and reuse of cultural heritage and the integration of the huge pattern of urban modernization with the Asian characteristics of heritage protection.
