LIN (Local Interconnect Network) is a concept for low cost automotive serial networks, which complements the existing portfolio of automotive multiplex networks. LIN is intended to complement the existing CAN network as the backbone of in vehicle communication leading to hierarchical networks within cars.LIN provides a cost efficient bus communication where the bandwidth and versatilityof CAN are not required. The serial communication bus and environment for development have been made into Standard by LIN consortium.Aiming at the latest LIN Specification Package Revision 2.0,we have research in this thesis about the realization of both node hardware and communication software, the structure of Automotive networks,high-level protocol and API "C'code programming.The thesis is divided into eight chapters:In chapter one, introduces the generation and sorts of the bus in the Automotive, and according to the fact of civil automotive industry,recommends the main task and idea of our own Class A Serial bus standard in Automotive networks.In chapter two, describes the work flow concept of LIN bus the design,and Aiming at the latest LIN Specification Package Revision 2.0,expounds the communication protocol.And through the research of the application and grow trend of LIN bus in foreign automotive,draws an analysis and conclusion.In chapter three, describes hardware system design of the LIN bus .First according to the character of LIN,the design scheme of the bus architecture is determined. Then, the circuit design of the bus nodes, including the master node and the slave node are discussed. Lastly, a three-level test communication platform for LIN is discussed.In chapter four ,compares the popular bus structures and concludes the respective disadvantages. Then, according to the requirment of Class A ECU in vehicle body , the LIN structure in Automotive is presented.In chapter five expounds the design of the high level bus protocol, including the net work management, node status management and identifiers assignment.In chapter six, explains the demonstration of the bus, involving the API making.In chapter seven, summarizes the whole thesis, and gives expections for further research.
