As an industrial product, auto has a long history over 120 years ever since the first wagon auto was made by German Demurer in 1886.Nowadays in the 21st century, auto has become a kind of high-tech, high-intelligent and fashionable product with large varieties and great numbers all over the world.It changes human life style and the mode of production, accelerates the rapid development of science and technology and has a remote impact on the development of social economy and cultural consciousness.The initial purpose of the creation of the first auto is to make it become tool for serving human as walking-substituent and transportation instrument. It is indicated that the primary goal of the modern mass industry is to satisfy as much as possible the human demands. Human nature is the normal sensibility and rationality; however, the human demands will change inside under different historical conditions and social systems.According to this view, the paper will discuss the manifestation of the humanistic design in the outside shape and inside decoration of the auto in the following several parts:I. The manifestation of the humanistic design in the outside shape of the auto.The shape of the auto gives the audience the most direct impression in the obvious design language. When a machine, or an auto is given to birth by the esigner, it is engraved the mark of the times. It has vivid characteristics of the epoch. These characteristics include the cultural consciousness, social trend, artistic concepts and individual pursue. The different styles witness the different times where people have various demands.i, Auto began to develop in USA and Europe after World War II. People in different regions and countries had various demands and cultural consciousness since various consequences and influences were bought by theWar.ii In the beginning of the 21st century, the auto industrial has developed steadily for 50 years, the comprehensive functions has been improved (energy, safety, comfortable and economical factors), and the proportion of the technology was increased, for example, the application of the electronic technology and computer systems into the design of the auto.At this time, auto, with its merge with other science to improve its functions, has become the model product with its modern artistic shape which attracted many people. The feature of the auto shape in this times stabilized itself in two trends: returnism and modernism.II. The manifestation of the humanistic design for the inner environment of the autoAuto is a movable home. Like the household fixed on the ground, it should be gracious, easy to operate, and with complete equipment, enjoyable environment and high-tech system matched with human spiritually and physically.Today's auto has realized the above requirements; these accomplishments should be attributed to the research result of "Human Engineering", which makes it possible for the auto designers to do their jobs in the humanistic way scientifically and rationally.This paper specializes in the following aspects to elaborate the humanistic design for the inner environment: comfortable seat, functional drive and artistic environmenti, the humanistic design for the comfortable seat1 the design for seats2 the design for inside spaceii, the humanistic design for drive1 the design for meter and hollow pad2 the design for steering wheeliii the artistic feature of the inner environmentThe pursue for the artistic style of the inner environment of auto is...
