Humanistic Concern In The City Waterfront Landscape Design

Water is fundamental for the survival of all biological substances. At the beginning of the urban development, human established their settlements on the plain near the river. Waterfront District is one of the most dynamic places in the Chinese cities. It has a long history. And it condenses the rich cultural spirit of the city. It also refracts the development of human civilization. With the rapid development of China’s national economy, Chinese society has entered the later period of industrialized era. People no longer satisfy the needs of interior decoration.They begin to focus on the outdoor landscape about the living environment. Many cities begin to pay attention to the importance of the landscape design in the riverside area. The riverside area construction becomes the hot spot in the cities construction. River space turns into the important mean of building the city features. All the riverside areas across the country begin to landscape construction in order to catching up with the step of the era and the needs of the public living space. The project of Chinese cities modernization starting late. The pursuit of the landscape construction in the riverside areas is modernization and internationalization that may damage the historical cultural environment.In the recent years, internal builders think the disadvantages of the landscape modern construction in the riverside areas.The designer begin to add human care in their design. But the idea about human care just stays at the mouth expression. The research of human care inserting in landscape modern construction is lack.Based on research, work and innovations of this paper are mainly shown in these areas: on one hand, based on the current status of urban riverfront landscape design, focusing on the blanks in humane care research in urban riverfront landscape design and the interdisciplinary crossover studies between landscape science and humanities disciplines, carry out analysis and discussion on the key issues of urban riverfront landscape design and humanistic care integration; on the other, carry out a multi-angle analysis on the practical problems existing in urban riverfront landscape design on the basis of features of urban riverfront landscape construction, and propose humanistic approach, opinions and principles against identical, unitary and other cultural issues existed in urban riverside landscape based on humanistic care; finally, in accordance with the concept of humanistic approach from humane care, conduct analysis and evaluation about space layout, hard landscape, soft landscape as well as a comprehensive humanistic care for Shangrao Sanjiang Park, so as to verify the value and feasibility of humanistic methods in urban riverfront landscape design. The humanistic approaches proposed by the author have some practical value in design. Moreover, analyzing and evaluating the success as well as shortcomings have a good reference for construction of riverside landscape design in other cities.
