Switched Reluctance Drive(SRD) system is a new type of controllable speed drive mechanotronics system rising in the 1980's of last century. It develops with the progress of micro-electronics technology, control technology, power electric and modern computer technology. It has the traits of simple structure, high dependability, flexible control and high efficiency, and has excellent performances and wide applications. It has been used in several industry departments and has a nice future. It is recognized to be the most potential drive system for dynamoelectric vehicles recommended by international dynamoelectric vehicle science andtechnology organization.Switched reluctance motor(SRM), as the main part of the SRD system, has unique features different from conventional motors, and, besides, highly saturated effects and nonlinearity exist in its magnetic circuit. Therefore, it is most desirable to build a fast, convenient and accurate simulation model for the designing of SRM and SRD as well as for the control optimizing design. At first, using the software of ANSOFT, the motor parameters are calculated, and then, magnetic field analysis and simple simulation are carried out. Based on the analyses of the linear model, quasi-linear model, and nonlinear model of switched reluctance motor, corresponding dynamic simulation model of SRD for 4-phases SRM is built up respectively. Further, the operation performances of the analyzed SRD are simulated under conditions of control modes including open loop, speed closed loop, current closed loop and both current and speed closed loops.A fast, convenient and accurate dynamic simulation model presented in this thesis is a powerful tool suitable to optimizing SRM design and to determining control programming.
