Due to SRM's flexible control method, compactness, robustness and satisfactory electric characteristics, the research for SRM has gained more attention since 1980. Great progress has been made in both relevant researches for theory and application. However, because of complication of mathematical model of SRM & controlling system about SRD and serious nonlinearity caused by double-salient structure and prominent disadvantage for the performance of high speed, reliability and cost in application brought by the configuration of sensor of rotor position in previous system, more work is needed to perfect in academic and practical research. So this work is implemented to make research for it.In this paper, the characteristic of SRD and its application are described in detail. The fundamental structure of SR motor and its working performance, with each of control strategy, are carefully studied.The research of SRD configure is an important part in whole work. Considering some flaws in previous power conversion control unit, improvement is carried out to get rid of that shortcoming existing previous system. In addition, protection and display function units are added into this system.On the basis of study about working principle of previous indirect rotor-position detecting techniques, the fuzzy rules with the relation knowledge of -I - is studied in this paper as an approach for sensorless position angle estimation, and the simulation research for control performance and rotor position estimation are carried out.Some experimental research on structure of SRD controller is well made, and A Fuzzy+ PID speed controller with TMS320F240 as core control unit is designed. Further work is implemented to study the frame and appropriate approach. What is more, many additional function, protection, alarm and display are also finished.MATLAB6.1 is used as simulation tool to implement the simulation for model of SRM and its control strategy. With the research knowledge made above, the simulation research for control performance and rotor position estimation is carried out. Quantities of experiments, including CCC, APC control strategy and position estimation, have been carried out. And some of satisfactory results are obtained.
