The switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive is described briefly, and the research status of its modeling and simulation is introduced emphatically. The discrete electromagnetic data at five particular rotor positions measured off-line are used to calculate the inductance data, from which we can obtain the inductance model by making use of an analytical expression containing polynomials and Fourier series. By analyzing the existing variable inductance emulators and variable resistance devieces, SRM phase inductance emulator is established which is based on the inductance model of SRM. The variable resistance of the given emulator is most critical, which is realized by the programmable resistor AD5174. The simulation of the phase inductance emulator is carried out in the electronic circuit simulation software PSPICE, and the simulation results show that the proposed phase winding emulator is feasible. The variable resistance simulator, current follower and other related components of the phase winding simulation circuit model were selected and then the corresponding PCB board were designed in this paper. The optically coupled isolation circuit, power-driven circuit, voltage and current detection circuit, signal input and output circuit and power converter circuit, which are used in the simulation model were designed and the components of these circuits were selected as well. And the current transmitter chip and variable resistance simulator were emphatically introduced. The power transistors and diodes of the power converter were selected and TMS320F28335 is used as the controller of the hardware in the loop simulation platform. The corresponding program was designed including main program, initialization program, interrupt subprogram, function subprogram, and the variable resistance module program and torque acquisition program in function subprogram were mainly introduced. With the software and hardware designed, the SRD hardware in the loop simulation platform was built. Hardware in the loop simulation experiment was carried out at different speed and turn-on and turn off angle, and the corresponding voltage, current and flux linkage waveform were acquired. The simulation results indicated the SRD hardware in the loop simulation platform reasonable and feasible. After that, the prototype platform was built and introduced, and then the prototype experiment was carried out under the same load and turn-on and turn off angle, and the waveforms were acquired and compared with the simulation results respectively. Finally, the deviation between the simulation results and the prototype experiment results is presented through quantitative analysis, which indicated the hardware in the loop simulation platform has higher accuracy.Finally, a summary of this paper and prospect of the relative research are presented.
