Now the kind of society economy is changing from industry economy to knowledge economy, knowledge is becoming the most active and important part of the essential ingredient of productivity. Under the background of such change, knowledge management and knowledge base system is becoming an important field of research. Mechanical product designing is complex activating based on knowledge and experience, and the knowledge style of mechanical product designing is excessive and baroque, so the management and research of mechanical product designing knowledge is necessary and significative. With an eye to solving the problems in knowledge management of mechanical product designing and aiming at the practical use, this project researches thoroughly the key technology of building a knowledge base system of mechanical product design and brings forward a knowledge base system developing-technology for mechanical product design with the example of Vibro_Energy Mill design knowledge base system.Finding a developing-technology for knowledge base that accords with the knowledge characteristics in the mechanical product designing field is one of the emphases in this project. This paper sums up the technology characteristics of mechanical product designing and selects the intelligent object representation method which is synthesized rule, framework and object-oriented representation according to it. This paper researches how to memory the intelligent object representation in the relational database. In this paper, knowledge acquisition mechanism is studied and a knowledge acquisition method is presented. This paper also discusses the knowledge management technology that concludes knowledge coherence checking, maturity checking, right checking, knowledge increasing and modification and deletion.Finding the developing-technology for reasoning machine which accords with the mechanical product designing field is another emphasis in this project. This paper researches the mechanical product designing expert's thinking pattern and adoptsthree reasoning model to simulate it. Of the three reasoning model, object reasoning machine is used in searching slots and responding the claim of rule collection and method reasoning machine, while method reasoning machine finish the impress of information, while production rule are left in framework's slots with the form of rule group, and the reasoning start from the known fact, performing the rule which matching the rule and bringing the new fact, and perform the process through and through till given aim is matched.In the end, with the example of VibroEnergy Mill design knowledge base system, Vibro_Energy Mill design knowledge is showed by design resource management tree using the idea of intelligent object representation.
