With the development of economic globalization, machinery manufacturing industry, as an important pillar industry of China’s national economy, will face more fierce competition in the market.The essence of machinery manufacturing industry competition is the competition of product design capability. Modern machinery manufacturing enterprises must meet the needs of time, cost, quality and service in product development process.The cost of product design account for a large proportion of the total cost, and the product design knowledge has complexity and diversity in function, structure,shape. We urgently requires the product design process to reflect the mutual cooperation in various fields, multi-agent collaboration with each other characteristics.Therefore, how to effectively use modern information technology and modern design theory to establish a market demand driven network design model, with a rapid response mechanism is the key of manufacturing to bail out and grasp the initiative. Mechanical Product Collaborative Design Network is product innovation design model combined by modern mechanical design theory and information technology. And it’s a product design process which Multidisciplinary design body design products for a complex mechanical product design goals synergistically in a distributed network environment.Collaborative design process of mechanical products is that a group of experts in different areas use the domain knowledge themselves owned to do an innovative design. How to express and share the design knowledge in collaborative design process is one of the important research area of Mechanical Product Collaborative Design Process Management.( 1) Based on the analysis of mechanical product design methods of knowledge representation, classification system and knowledge representation model of a mechanical product design knowledge is proposed. According to the characteristics parameters of product design, organizational structure knowledge,knowledge of design principles, design specifications knowledge, designknowledge and design experience instances knowledge, the appropriate knowledge representation model is defined from examples of knowledge and domain knowledge two aspects based on XML template language.(2)Based on the analysis method of professional engine retrieval under existing network environment, a mechanical product design knowledge selective search strategy under network collaborative environment is purposed.And according to the characteristics of different types of mechanical products knowledge, we design a spider web-based search algorithm WEB knowledge and subject-oriented web spider knowledge retrieval algorithms. We also propose a model of case-based reasoning on collaborative design based on product case-based reasoning(3)Taking bearing collaborative design knowledge representation system as example, Mechanical Product Collaborative Design Knowledge Representation and Retrieval Prototype System is designed. And it verifies the validity of the proposed method.
